Achievement of Human Security Engineering on View Point of Drinking Water Engineering
Water supply system laboratory, Department of Urban Management, Graduate School of Engineering
Place of stay: (1) 19th World Congress & Exhibition (IOA), Japan (2) 7th IWA Leading-Edge Conference (LET) on Water and Wastewater Technologies, USA (3) National Institute of Public Health (NIPH), Japan
Term: August 31-3 Sep, 2009,
June 2-4, August 9-12, 2010
The objectives of my internship were to make oral and poster presentations in international conferences, to collect information on water supply's quality and water reuse in megacities, and to study analytical methods of drinking water disinfection byproducts. I attended conferences with many professors and environmental leaders from Japan and overseas. For the IOA conference, my paper was selected for publication on an international journal (Ozone Science & Engineering). For the LET conference, I met a lot of professors from overseas and had discussion on drinking water quality. Finally, I learned how to measure N-nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA), carcinogenic compounds in drinking water, at NIPH. Also, I got useful information during discussion with many researchers in the institute on the drinking water treatment in order to provide safe and satisfied drinking water.
