The international conference and international summer school at Hanoi, Vietnam

Geoinformatics Laboratory, Division of Environmental Systems Engineering, Department of Urban and Environmental Engineering, Graduate School of Engineering
Place of stay: National Convention Center and Vietnam Institute of Geodesy and Cartography (VIGAC) in Hanoi, Vietnam
Term: November 1 – November 10, 2010
The objectives of my internship were to present my research result at the 31st Asian Conference on Remote Sensing and to attend the 5th ISPRS Summer School at the Vietnam Institute of Geodesy and Cartography in Hanoi, Vietnam. At the ISPRS, I studied the cutting-edge technologies particularly in advanced remote sensing for mapping, monitoring and managing of the environment.
This internship helped me work on my existing skills and acquire new skills. Though the period of my internship was short, the following tasks were carried out: presenting a paper at the international conference, participating in the summer school and discussing with famous scientists and lecturers. These experiences were useful to me since I was able to learn more about how to derive ideas for remote sensing developments and how the theoretical foundation lead to good research designs.
This internship was extremely valuable to me as my interests in the field of remote sensing that have always revolved around studying, working in an interdisciplinary field and my future career.
