Outline

The Workshop on New Challenges to Global Environmental Engineering Including Cooperation with Asian-Megacities was held at Clock Tower Centennial Hall on July 31st, 2009. The purpose of this workshop is to show the approach to globalize environmental engineering in Kyoto University and to report the activities in the Global COE Program "Global Center for Education and Research on Human Security Engineering for Asian Megacities". Through this workshop, we intend to promote collaboration with other countries, mainly Asian countries. In this workshop, the poster session is held as the place for students belonging to human security engineering discipline to present their studies.

"Environmental engineering corresponding to internationalization". In the speech, he explained the reorganization of Dept. of Urban Environ. Eng. and Project for Establishing Core Universities for Internationalization (Global 30). Second, Prof. Yuzuru Matsuoka and Prof. Shigeo Fujii, Kyoto University made speeches about "Program of Cooperation with Asian-Megacities". They talked about the view and achievement of Global COE Program "Global Center for Education and Research on Human Security Engineering for Asian Megacities" and International Center for Human Resource Development in Environmental Management. Third, Assoc. Prof. Makoto Yasojima and Asst. Prof. Nguyen Pham Hong Lien talked on "Activity report in overseas bases, Shenzhen and Hanoi", in which they reported research activities in the international center in Shenzhen, China, and Hanoi, Viet Nam, showing pictures. Fourth, Prof. Hiroaki Tanaka and Prof. Shigeo Fujii, Kyoto University, talked about "Environmental research cooperating with Asian countries". In the speeches, they explained the research concretely on Human Health Risk Management of Human Security Engineering for Asian Megacities and the procedure establishment of Human Security Scenarios for Megacities Water Environment by collaboration with Asian Universities. Finally, Mr. Tasuku Adachi, student of Graduate School of Kyoto University, talked on "Exchange with people in Asian countries, student internship", in which he reported his experience in Vietnam.
