Outline

The 8th international conference on Multi-National Joint Venture for Construction Works was held on Novenber 12-13 2012, at Hanbat National University, Korea. The conference would like to introduce a new concept ‘rationalizing expectations in joint ventures’ which intend to focus on issues in managing multi-national construction joint ventures involving key stakeholders. On the first day, President of Hanbat University, Prof. Won-Mook Lee opened the conference. Prof. K. Kobayashi addressed a keynote speech on “risk sharing rule for construction contract in international joint venture projects” and Prof. G. Ray addressed a keynote speech on “foreign joint ventures in emerging economies: some reflections on future direction”. The 8th conference fluently transpired along two days with total presentation of the 36 excellent speakers and about 80 participants from various research fields.

Report

At the 8th conference, the participants have showed excellent achievements of the issue of their respective research fields such as political and technical problems regarding multi-national joint ventures for infrastructure development including public-private partnerships, particularly focusing on Asian countries. Among the achievements of the conferences which have been held in 2011 at Bandung and in 2012 at Daejeon, high quality papers will be selected and put in a paper compilation book. The compilation book can be regarded as the final output of the international conferences.
