Occurrence of PPCPs in aquatic environment around Shenzhen
Environmental Quality Prediction Sub-department, Division of Environmental Material Science and Technology, Department of Urban and Environmental Engineering, Graduate School of Engineering
Place of stay: Tsinghua University, Shenzen campas, China
Term: March 1, 2011 – March 11, 2011
The occurrence of 60 PPCPs which were in the spotlight as emerging trace pollutant was revealed at 2 WWTPs (6 points) and 15 rivers in Shenzen. Difference of usage of PPCPs between China and Japan was suggested by comparing PPCPs concentrations in the influent water at WWTPs. Difference of on-site treatment system between China and Japan was suggested by comparing PPCPs concentrations in the rivers flowing through unsewered areas. Present situation of river in Shenzen was identified by the river survey. As for the large river flowing central part of Shenzen, some part of sediments moved away from the bottom because of gas generation and drifted in the surface. This situation was very much different from that in Japan. I learned how to make friends and make smooth communication in foreign country from the dinners and the sightseeing with local students in my free time.
