Subsurface imaging using seismic wave by Common Reflection Surface Stack method
Engineering Geology, Department of Civil and Earth Resources system Engineering, Graduate School of Engineering
Place of stay: Insititut Tecnologi Bandung, Indonesia
Term: May 15, 2011 – June 11, 2011
The main purpose of my internship was to study the CRS stack method, which estimates the underground structures using seismic wave, and to apply it to the seismic data acquired in Japan under the supervision of the researcher in ITB. Additionally, I attended the conference regarding to the oil industry (IPA, Indonesian Petroleum Association) held in Jakarta and collected the information of recent development of the oil/gas technology in Indonesia. Also I participated a geological field trip held as a part of the lecture for undergraduate students in ITB. I introduced my research to them in the lecture. Through this internship, I collected the recent advance in the oil and gas field in Indonesia. Furthermore, I learned about the recent development in the CRS-stack method and practical knowledge for the application of the method. I discussed my research with students in ITB as well as the research scientists. It was a good experience for me to discuss with them and to exchange knowledge among us.
