Hydrology and Water Resources Research Laboratory, Division of Hydraulic Engineering, Department of Civil and Earth Resources Engineering, Graduate School of Engineering
Place of stay: Office of Research and Development, Royal Irrigation Department of Thailand (RID), Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), TEAM Consulting Engineering and Management Co., Ltd (TEAM), Thailand
Term: October 1, 2012 - October 19, 2012
Regarding to my research topic “Development of a regional distributed hydrological model for water resources assessment and its application to the Chao Phraya River Basin”, this internship was focused on a water resources situation of the Chao Phraya River Basin, Thailand. Consequently, a better understanding of a characteristic of the study area, topographic and hydrologic conditions, is needed. And discussions with the persons who directly work on water resources in the Chao Phraya River Basin are also necessary to practically improve my research. To promote the research and to hear feedbacks, comments, and suggestions from the local experts who work on water resources in Thailand are very useful for brightening my vision on research.
The internship program was conducted under the following objectives: 1. to present and promote my research to the local organizations, 2. to visit the Chao Phraya River Basin for site investigation, and 3. to collect data and relevant documents. This internship provided me the great opportunity to conduct all above activities which are important parts of my research activities related to the human security engineering.
